Australia SMS Sender ID registration

From 1 July 2026, Sender IDs used for SMS to Australian recipients must be registered to comply with local regulations. This page explains the requirement and where to register.

Australia has introduced a regulatory requirement for Sender ID registration, effective 1 July 2026. Any Sender ID used to send SMS to recipients in Australia must be registered to comply with local regulations.

This applies to customers who send SMS to Australian recipients through LINK Mobility as the messaging provider.

Sender IDs that aren’t registered may be subject to message delivery disruptions or blocked traffic to Australian recipients. The requirement is in effect as of 1 July 2026 — if you send SMS to Australia and your Sender IDs aren’t yet registered, complete the registration as soon as possible.

Who is affected

  • Customers sending SMS to recipients in Australia.
  • Customers who have already registered their Sender IDs don’t need to take any further action.
