# Create stock-take templates

> The stock-take template determines the way in which the counting is going to occur.

To create a stock-take template, follow the provided steps:

1. Search for **Stock-Take Templates**, and choose the related link.
2. Click **New**, followed by the **Crate Default Template** action in the dropdown that is displayed.\
   The **Stock-Take Template Card** is displayed.
3. Populate the available fields and options with the help of the [<ins>reference table</ins>](/product/retail-physical-inventory-stocktake-template-ref).
