# Use the Customer Display web app

> Show a customer-facing screen for NP Retail by opening customerdisplay.npretail.io with your tenant ID.

[<ins>Customer Display</ins>](https://customerdisplay.npretail.io) is a hosted, web-based customer-facing screen for NP Retail. It runs directly in a browser, with no local installation required, it's configured entirely through URL parameters.

## Prerequisites

* Your NP Retail tenant ID. If you don't have it, contact NaviPartner support.
* A screen (or a second browser window/tab) that customers can see during checkout.

## First-time setup

Open `https://customerdisplay.npretail.io` in a browser, and add your tenant ID as the `tenant` query parameter:

```
https://customerdisplay.npretail.io/?tenant=<your-tenant-id>
```

This leads to a **Login with your Microsoft Account** button — this is expected, not an error. After signing in, you're guided through selecting the environment, company, and POS unit the display should show. Once set up, the display remembers this configuration across restarts, so this only needs to be done once per screen.

## Changing the POS unit later

To return to setup and pick a different POS unit, long-press anywhere on the display for about 5 seconds. A **Back to Setup** prompt appears. This is currently the only way to change the POS unit after initial setup.

## URL parameters

Besides `tenant`, the following query parameters are supported:

* `lang` — sets the display language. `lang=da` shows Danish; any other value, or leaving it out, shows English. Only the receipt screen is translated — the login and setup screens are always in English regardless of this parameter.
* `primaryColor` / `secondaryColor` — customize the display's colors (hex color codes, without the `#`). They default to `549ad3` and `cbddf0`. An invalid value falls back to the default instead of erroring.
* `environment`, `company`, `pos` — pre-fill the corresponding setup screen so the person setting up the display doesn't have to select it manually.
* `autoConfirm=true` — skips confirmation on the pre-filled setup screens.

### Examples

Custom colors:

```
https://customerdisplay.npretail.io/?tenant=d4cacb47-5821-47ef-a7e5-71cfb9699e75&primaryColor=663553&secondaryColor=bd9db0
```

Danish display:

```
https://customerdisplay.npretail.io/?tenant=d4cacb47-5821-47ef-a7e5-71cfb9699e75&lang=da
```

Kiosk setup — combining `environment`, `company`, `pos`, and `autoConfirm=true` skips straight to the receipt screen after sign-in, with no manual selection needed:

```
https://customerdisplay.npretail.io/?tenant=<your-tenant-id>&environment=<environment>&company=<company>&pos=<pos-unit>&autoConfirm=true
```

> **Tip:** For a kiosk-like experience, combine the setup pre-fill parameters above with full-screen/kiosk mode in your browser of choice.
